This family of viruses rampantly spreads between animals and humans through biting insects, like avatars of colonial ambition and capitalist excess. They possess a singular desire: to survive, replicate and expand. Unable to reproduce alone, they invade living cells, commandeering their resources until they overflow with copies of themselves.
Generations of careless capitalist ambition have culminated in rising global temperatures, setting the stage for arboviruses and the insects that carry them to expand their reach into new territories.
